A Memo From Camus: A Poem

Dearest Sisyphus,

I am writing to inform you that I have

inadvertently misrepresented you

and your situation.

As it so happens, it is not you who is rolling

the rock

but rather the rock that is rolling you

selfishly barring you from floating away

drifting

aimless balloon that you are.

Furthermore,

the rock is not in fact a rock

but rather an enormous dung ball

and one that has grown wiser

than the lowly scarab

that moves it.

Thought you should know.

Regards.
